Needless to say, Lululemon’s people and products won my heart a long time ago. They are so much more than a stretchy pants company.
My time at the recent Lululemon Ambassador Summit in Vancouver changed my life forever. I wanted to share my top takeaway in the hopes that it can light a fire in you the way it did for me.
The Power of Declaration
Each ambassador was asked to come up with a declaration that would help them breakdown any personal barriers to reaching their goals. After some contemplation and the help of fellow ambassador Joe Rios of Ottawa, Ontario, I chose “Through self-love and integrity, I commit to empowering others on and off the mat.” To me, this means I choose to live a life of truth and example in order to inspire and motivate others, quieting my deep childhood insecurities and tendency to be lax with my commitments to myself.
Since I set this declaration a few days ago, I wrote 20 pages of a book I have been wanting to write for years now. I stopped talking about writing and just sat down and wrote, putting aside my fear that I wouldn’t be able to get the right words out. I am so thankful to my Lululemon family for giving me the kick in the butt I needed to get this and my other long-term goals clear and energized!
I challenge you to start writing your declaration so you can take actions that match your vision of yourself and your future. It’s a very powerful move towards living a happy and fulfilling life.
