When Brenda began practicing yoga in 2005, she was working as a senior marketing executive for a major oil company, a job that left her stressed and unfulfilled. She found yoga to be her sacred space for calming her mind of worries, fear and insecurity. Yoga gave her the clarity to see the life changes necessary to find happiness and the courage to make them a reality.

Since then, Brenda has become a full-time certified advanced and prenatal yoga instructor
(200 ERYT, 500 RYT and PRYT), leading private and group classes throughout the metropolitan area, as well as teacher training and international yoga retreats. Brenda completed her first teacher training with one of the last living yoga gurus, Sri Dharma Mittra, who trained with one of the first gurus to bring hatha yoga to the West, Swami Kailashananda Maharaji aka Yogi Gupta. She has also studied with other world renowned teachers, including Raghunath, Andrei Ram and Acroyoga’s Jason & Jenny. She has augmented her yoga knowledge with advanced anatomy training for movement professionals, prenatal and postnatal training, restorative yoga training, thai bodywork training, a reiki master certification and a nutritional coach certification from the Academy of Healing Nutrition.

Brenda enjoys giving back to the community and is a regular volunteer yoga teacher at Englewood Hospital in NJ. Her role in the communities in which she teaches has helped her attain ambassador status with leading yoga brands Lululemon Athletica and Manduka, as well as award-winning organic skin and hair care brand, SheaMoisture.

She recently published a yoga career guidebook for new and aspiring teachers available on Amazon.com called Career Yogi.

Brenda’s teaching style is easily tailored to meet your needs, ranging from gentle and relaxing to challenging and invigorating. Brenda’s mission is to help each student achieve a strong, flexible and balanced body and mind.
